We’ve been blessed to visit many zoos across the country and afar, but never enjoyed any of them like this one! The animals seemed well fed and cared for; the staff was wonderful with the animals and us!

We chose to splurge on the ultimate VIP and I sooooo HIGHLY recommend it!!! From holding a baby kangaroo, the lemurs, to my personal favorite, touching a sloth!!!

If you do get the chance to do a VIP experience, do yourself a favor and ask for Joy!! She did the drive through section of our tour and was adorable!! You can tell she truly loves the animals and taught us so much! Also Cory was another VIP guide that helped during our tour and he was also amazing, so funny and knowledgeable!!

Just a great day all the way around and hands down my best zoo experience ever!!

If I could give zero stars that is what I would do. My daughter and I were so excited to take my 2 year old granddaughter to the Promised Land Zoo. I mean with the name it had to be wonderful as they are God's creatures.

When I pulled up I told my daughter I thought it was odd the zoo was in the middle of town and looked like a shopping mall. We got our tickets and walked in. We fed the parakeets which was fun but while in there a worker made a very loud sound in the porcupine enclosure and all the parakeets flew up and would not eat the treats we had or fly anywhere. It was almost like they had been trained to get quit flying and get off the floor. We then started down the trail feeding the other animals but something just didn't feel right. I kept looking around and looking at my daughter like something just isn't right.

Some of the animals were just pacing back and forth looking anxious. The lion was in a small enclosure with a small area for shade. The lion and the tiger have their signs up next to each other as if they're supposed to be in the same enclosure, which isn't okay. There was a goat in the pin with a small zebra and the goat was standing on his hind legs trying to get food out of the container that was up too high. There were miniature ponies with the llamas, and the llamas looked too small. There were two animals that I don't even know what they were they just laid there didn't want any food and one of them looked like they were hot and needed water. The monkeys looked sad and anxious.

I have been to several zoos and I have never seen one like this. These animals are not being treated as God intended as the signs around the zoo states. None of the animals looked like they were thriving. We only made it about 30 minutes in the zoo and were ready to leave. I spent 75.00 for two adults and a 2 year old. I am more upset that my money helped support this place than I am spending 75.00 for 30 minutes. Before the owner/director suggests we should've upgraded our tickets, we knew what we were paying for - I am just appalled at these animal's living conditions. I didn't bother driving through. I know that the director/owner is going to say that I am an animal rights activist terrorist as she has in other posts that she does not like or that I am against faith-based. This is just not true. I also saw that she goes on here and makes sure she copy and pastes a good review and five stars to every bad review.

So to this director/owner that tried to get AZA accredited and was denied who has scriptures posted around and who likes to say people are slamming you because you are faith based: just do what is right for these animals. From what I saw the animals that spend 40 days and 40 nights on an ark were probably happier than the animals that are at Promised Land Zoo. And before you say it YES animals can look happy and healthy just like they can look sad and unhealthy. Anyone that says they cannot look sad shouldn't have animals.

We had such an amazing experience at Promised Land Zoo. We had a short couples getaway and I messed up and got the tickets for the wrong date. I called the morning that my tickets were for and, despite such short notice, Joy at the front desk was so kind and fixed everything for us. She was also so wonderful with explaining the schedule and processes for our day and even helped us upgrade from our VIP+ tickets to include a second animal encounter after we fell in love with seeing the Lemurs.
With our VIP+ tickets, we had the pleasure of Cory being our guide. We started off by going over safety protocols and instructions on how to handle each of the small animals. We got to hold a Joey (the highlight of my entire life), pet a prairie dog, and hold a boa constrictor. Then we also got to pet a sweet Patagonian Mara, hairy armadillos, and Fennec foxes.
For our VIP+ encounter, we chose to feed the Sloths and added an extra encounter with the Lemurs. We are so happy we did both because it was amazing to interact with the sloths, but they were less active and the Lemurs were giving us kisses, running all over us, and even grooming our hair. Cory was really incredible the whole time, giving us so much cool info and answering all of our questions. The outside drive and petting portion were awesome as well, but I HIGHLY recommend the VIP or VIP+.
Joy in the gift shop LOVES the baby spider monkeys, so if you do a VIP+ experience with them, be sure to request her. Cory is the absolute best with the sloths.
Thanks so much for an unforgettable experience!

Our family has such a wonderful time 9/20/24. The staff was amazing. I'm not one that usually supports or visits small zoos. We were absolutely surprised how wonderful this little zoo was. Staff was very knowledgeable. We paid for the VIP+ experience, and it was worth every penny we paid. Thankfully you for giving our family such a wonderful day, and experience. Cannot wait to see your new big cat enclosure done! All of your animals looked healthy, and beyond happy. 5 stare to our VIP experience staff who brought out my all time fave animal the Black Tailed prairie dog. Yes I cried. No I'm not ashamed. ?. We will be back for sure!!!

We had a great time. Bre led our Vip + experience and she was wonderful. Jane was working in the office and she was very helpful and the owner helped get us checked in so we wouldn't be late to our experience. All the staff we encountered was friendly. We also had a conversation with a lady who was cleaning the lemur enclosure and she shared some cool info with us. We did have to reschedule our monkey encounter but they definitely made up in hospitality. I fell in love with the capybara, I decided to give some food and give some scratches on its neck and that lasted about 5 mins and then I ended up leaving and decided to come back and see if i could get it's attention again so my husband could get pics and about 5 mins into scratching it's neck it turned around and gave me its back? so of course I had to oblige. I even went back the next day so I could give it scratches one more time. This is my 2nd time doing a vip + experience, first time was in 2022. I definitely recommend booking an experience and look forward to going back.

Coming from Nebraska me and my hubby were looking for something fun to do and we really enjoyed the promised land zoo! Reading the reviews AFTER our visit, kinda surprised me because me and my husband thought the animals looked fine and we had great customer service experience! We were both able to hold a lizard at the reptile exhibit which we thought was so cool! I did see something concerning in the reptile building but other than that had a great experience, even without the VIP package! We walked on foot and drove through the safari, the mini horses and donkeys were probably my favorite♡ Would definitely come back!
